After a decade of therapizing, I'm finally starting a blog. So, here goes.

Life can be a lot. Between juggling relationships, kids, work, stress, and the random existential crisis, it’s no wonder so many of us feel stuck, tired, or overwhelmed. At Tree of Life Counseling and Wellness, we believe healing doesn’t have to be perfect or pretty. It just has to be real. Growth is messy sometimes, but so is life.

Why “Tree of Life”?

The name came from a special place for me. I was married under a huge, ancient tree called the Tree of Life in a beautiful, historic spot. If you're familiar with famous trees (definitely a niche thing) you might spot it in one of the photos I have on my website...I'm also a big tree hugger, so it felt right to name my practice after it.

The Tree of Life is one of the oldest symbols in the world. Almost every culture, religion, or spiritual tradition has its own version. It reminds us that growth and connection are things all humans share. No matter where you look, the message is the same: we are rooted, connected, and capable of growth and change.

At Tree of Life Counseling and Wellness, that’s at the heart of what we do. Just like the tree is a universal symbol of life and healing, therapy here is a place where everyone is welcome, no matter your story or background.

What We Do

We offer counseling for individuals, couples, and families. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, or you just feel like you’ve lost your spark, we’re here for it.

We use evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR (ask me if you're curious about these). But therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll figure out what works best for you together. Kaley and I both have kind, supportive, and gentle approaches as therapists.

What This Blog Is About

Think of this space as a cozy extension of our counseling room. We’ll share encouragement, coping tools, insights into mental health, and some humor too.

Meet the Human Behind the Tree

I’m Chelsea: therapist, mom of three boys, travel lover, book enthusiast, coffee addict, and owner of Tree of Life Counseling and Wellness.

This practice started as a dream years before it became real. Being able to do this work now still feels surreal. I’m grateful all the time!

The reason I became a counselor? My own counselor, Nancy. She was steady, kind, and unshakable at a time when my life felt anything but. She never judged me. She gave me space to breathe. That kind of presence changes lives. It definitely changed mine and I hope she's enjoying retirement!

What It’s Like to Sit With Me

I’m part steady guide, part friend who always has coffee and snacks. I’ll ask questions that make you think, offer new ways to look at things, and cheer for every tiny win along the way.

Some weeks, therapy might look like deep insight and tough conversations. Other weeks, it’s practical “let’s make life easier right now” tools. And yes, there will be humor. Because healing doesn’t have to feel heavy every single second.

An Invitation

If you’ve been thinking about counseling but feel nervous, that’s normal. Reaching out doesn’t mean you’re broken or weak. It means you’re brave enough to want something better for yourself.

So, welcome. We’re glad you found us and thanks for reading! I hope you decide to stick around as I'll be sharing more soon!
